History PT. Royal Abadi Sejahtera's (the "Company") involvement in the polyurethane foam industry in Indonesia commenced in the 1979 with the production of prepolymer based polyether foams. The Company was at the forefront of introducing and developing this product under the brand name "Royal Foam®" at a time when polyurethane (P.U) foam technology was still in its infancy. In 1987, the Company started the production of inner spring mattress. Equipped with the most technically advanced machinery, the company developed this product under the brand name "Elite®" spring bed. We have now become one of the largest and leading producers in the bedding industry in Indonesia. In 1989, the company, employing more than 550 people, moved to a new location, Padalarang – Bandung. The new factory has a total land area exceeding 68,000 square meters. Total covered area is 23,000 square meters. By 1989, the production capacity had become so strained, that a worldwide outsourcing was launched to find the most efficient and up to date equipment for both foam production and conversion. In 1990 a "Maxfoam" machine was purchased and installed, operating under license and technical assistance of unifoam A.G. Switzerland. Royal maintains extensive research and development to produce polyurethane foam at a standard equivalent to World's Best Practice. In 1990, the Company eliminated the use of ozone-depleting chloroflourocarbons (CFCs) in its foam operations. This development had been achieved 6 years ahead of the revised target of implementation (January 1, 1996) required under the Montreal Protocol. In 1994, the Company further improved the quality of foam production. A second continuous high pressure foaming machine, and a long-block cutting machine (loop slitter) was purchased and installed. In April 1996, the Company signed a trademark agreement with Acro Chemical Company, USA allowing the use of Ultra cell® mark on the Company's products. The Company has been selected to be the only foam company in Indonesia authorized to use the term "Ultra cell® Foam" for its High Resilience (HR) foam products, and introduced Ultra cell® Foam HR to the Indonesian market. This foam is known for its greater comfort, resilience, durability and flame resistance, and it is now recognized as being the ultimate cushioning foam. Today, PT. Royal Abadi Sejahtera suplies PU foam products to the furniture, automotive, bedding, soft furnishing and sport shoes industries. With two (2) foaming lines in operation, the Company is now one of the largest continuous slab stock foam producer and converter in Indonesia. In addition, the Company supplies the local market with spring and foam mattresses under the well-known brand names of Royal, Pioneer, Classic, and Elite. Business Planning PT.
